"I am confident that I will not regain my weight"

Hello, my name is Martina Harrison and I'm a homemaker from California. Since joining Positive Changes Hypnosis, I've lost 27 lbs! I used to wear a tight size 12, heading to 14. Now I'm a slim size 10. I can even wear a belt, which I hadn't been able to do for years. My clothing fits just right now that my arms and legs are thinner. My weight just melted away!

Before Positive Changes, I had been overweight since I moved to Pleasanton 10 years ago. I had started menopause and the weight gain followed. I also used to train to race sailboats before my move. Once that activity level decreased, the pounds started adding on. On top of my sedentary lifestyle, I had no portion control. At one time my husband and I were eating a baker's dozen of donuts between the two of us.

I was embarrassed about my weight. The image I had of myself and what I actually looked like weren't adding up. I had never had to diet in my life, so I fell victim to the fad diets. I did Weight Watchers, but it wasn't for me. I had no desire to do programs like Jenny Craig—I didn't believe the food could be good for me. I found that depriving myself of foods, such as carbs, would just make me crave those foods until I caved in. As a result, I would lose and gain and lose and gain. I was tired of thinking about food all the time.

I read about Positive Changes Hypnosis in the newspaper. I had thought about going in for about 6 months. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, a condition related to my weight. That finally gave me the push to call Positive Changes.

I found the environment welcoming and low key. The people were friendly and understanding. I never felt pressured to do anything. I really liked that there was no weighing or measuring. Any changes I made would be entirely up to me.

Hypnosis appealed to me because it was the one path I hadn't walked yet. I was curious to explore a more wholesome approach to weight loss. To me, hypnosis was the most relaxing feeling, and it helped ease a great deal of my anxiety.

I started noticing changes in my behavior from the start. I no longer felt the need to snack while sitting on the couch in the evening. I know I won't starve if I don't have something to eat every other hour.

Hypnosis made losing weight easier than I ever dreamed possible. It only took me a little over half a year to reach my goal weight and I'm keeping it off with ease. I don't obsess about food. I make healthy choices and I'm enjoying food more than ever. My taste buds love healthy, fresh and vibrant foods. I'm in control of my portions. My sweet tooth has all but fallen out. Sweets no longer look appetizing to me and I don' t feel like eating them. I don't miss them, either.

I've become an active person again. Before hypnosis, exercise was an ongoing struggle. Now it's effortless. I have more energy and I feel better overall.

I have significantly reduced my cholesterol. My doctor is ecstatic about that. I haven't had a chance to retake the sleep apnea test, but I think that has improved as well.

My metabolism had slowed down to a halt until hypnosis jump-started it. Now it's working the way it did years ago.

There is a saying in German that roughly translates to "When you're round, you're a sorrow dumpling." I felt that a lot. Parting from that sorrow dumpling makes me very happy and confident. My husband is super excited to see that happier, more confident me.

Every once in a while I wonder if this experience has been too good to be true. But I am confident that I will not regain my weight. I love feeling better and healthier—something I never thought was possible.

The most important benefit I received from Positive Changes was the life skills I gained. I can go to a place of deep relaxation without taking a nap and it rejuvenates me on a higher level. I have a mental framework rather than a recipe book for changing my life.
