Lorraine Williams from Clackamas, OR![]() ![]() My name is Lorraine Williams. I live in Clackamas, OR and I'm a Medical Assistant. I heard about Positive Changes Hypnosis through the newspaper. I was feeling extremely depressed about myself, repulsive was the word I used. I decided to check it out and see how it worked and if I thought it would work for me. I've been overweight off and on since I was about 24, so about 35 years, which is a long time. To date I've lost 65 lbs. I've gone from a loose 18 or very tight 16, to a size 6. It's taken me approximately 9 months to lose this. I have tried losing weight with other methods. I've done the do-it-myself diet, Slimfast, Southbeach, and NutriSystem, I didn't enjoy not being able to choose what I wanted to eat, I like being in control. I did lose weight on them but it came back almost immediately. My program at Positive Changes made it easy because the thoughts were there but I didn't have to think about it. I just started drinking water and didn't even realize that my morning mochas had gone away. I started seeing results within 3-4 weeks. My weight loss has been consistent. It's almost like it just gradually melted off. Drinking the water was probably the first thing I noticed and it was probably within a couple weeks. I've been eating less and not really wanting more. I don't snack. I haven't raided the M&M jar in quite awhile. I don't feel deprived and I don't feel like I need to raid the jar. I did not feel in control of my eating habits and I felt like my eating habits controlled me before I came to Positive Changes. Now I feel like I only eat when I'm hungry; not when I'm sad, not when I'm bored, and not when I just don't know what else to do with myself. I have seen my doctor and she said I was doing really well and she wanted to see me reach my goal weight. My blood pressure and my cholesterol have both improved. I have also been able to discontinue taking medication for acid reflux and diabetes. I have regained my sense of well being. I now have control of my life and I enjoy being healthy and thinner. I have started an aerobic swim class that is very intense and have been able to keep up. Friends and family have noticed the changes and they say "wow, you look thin". I haven't heard that in years. I have more confidence and self-esteem because I don't feel like I have to hide myself anymore by wearing baggy clothes. Now I can wear clothes that actually fit and know they look good. The cost of the program is justified because they put a lot of time into a person to get the success that they need and want. As far as future accomplishments, I just want to get on with my life and enjoy the fact that I now enjoy being me. The most valuable benefit I've received overall is probably the increase in my self-esteem and my self-confidence and just the fact that I don't cringe when I see myself in the mirror. I do believe my weight loss is permanent. I have no desire to eat great big meals anymore. I have no desire to eat "bad" foods, the sugar and carb foods that I was drawn to before. I recommend Positive Changes to anyone who wants to lose weight because I think it's almost painless. This has been so much more than just losing weight. I have gone through a personal dramatic change and the processes talk about feeling good about yourself and having a feeling of serenity; a feeling of safety, of a bright future and imagining yourself one year from now and how wonderful life would be.
