"Hi. My name is Dee Haislip. I live in Portland, Oregon. I read about Positive Changes every day when I would do my crossword puzzle and I kept saying, "This is what I need." I told my husband that's what I wanted for Christmas, and that's the only thing I wanted, and by golly I got it. It has worked perfectly for me. I've been over weight since about 1990 something, and it was steadily getting worse and worse. I really didn't know how much I weighed until I got on the scale to figure out where I was. I was ashamed of myself but I knew I was on the right path to change my life. To date, I have lost 88 pounds and many inches since coming to Positive Changes. I have gone from a size 3X to a 12, so I'm feeling really good.

I want to talk about what it was like gaining weight and not being able to do all the things that I enjoyed doing. Take my love of bowling for example. I grew up bowling with my parents and continued throughout my life until my gradual weight gain made it impossible for me to enjoy the sport anymore. All of a sudden, your fingers do not fit in the custom drilled ball. Your feet don't quite fit in the shoes correctly. Your delivery of the ball is off, but you don't know why. So I lost interest in the game, much to my husband's dismay. I quit bowling altogether because it wasn't "fun" anymore.

I have tried several weight loss methods and this one really has been one hundred percent for me. Sure you can lose weight fast doing some programs, but you can't keep it off if you don't change your mind. That's what Positive Changes has done. This is the best thing I have ever done for myself. The program here at Positive Changes was very easy for me. I didn't feel like it made a difference in my eating habits until I starting realizing, I'm not having french fries. I'm not having that late night snack, a candy bar or whatever. I'm not eating more than I should be. I don't have that, "Oh my gosh, I'm so full." Then I realized this is almost mindless for me because my mind has changed the way I eat. I even prepare my foods now whereas before it was fast foods or frozen dinners.

I started seeing results immediately. I went home from my first session, stopped at the grocery store and bought all these fruits and vegetables. I realized that yes, this program does work. It's not just a slogan. It works. I am more upbeat. I am more relaxed and I guess I would say less tired because the sessions really, really help you relax and rest. It's a good sleep. It's a deep sleep whereas before I would take what I would say were cat naps. It repaired my self-esteem and as time went on, I began to see the old me in the mirror.

Now I eat more vegetables and fruits. I can't get enough of them. My husband was just saying the other day, "You make the best vegetables." He'll call me up at work and say, "Can I have some of your stuff?" and I'm like, you know I don't make it just for me. He's actually lost 22 pounds just with the way I'm preparing foods.

The last time I saw my doctor I think I had only lost 20 something pounds, and she asked me how I was doing it. I told her it was with hypnosis and she said, "Well, does it work?" And I said, "Yeah, I've lost 20 pounds so far," and that only took a month. When I see her again, I hope she realizes yes, it does work, and maybe will start referring people to Positive Changes. Positive Changes is not just a CD, whatever you listen to. This is a whole program. It's a whole big picture. You have classes you go to and they show you how to maintain your weight loss. It's just all good.

My health is just astronomical. I have so much more energy. Before, going for walks exhausted me. I'd be out of breath and couldn't go very far, and forget about anything with hills. The weight I was carrying made it hard to even catch my breath. Now all I want to do is walk and walk and walk. I walk on the treadmill daily. My behaviors have changes. I'm less stressed. I have a lot of things going on in my life right now, but I've been able to breathe through them. Positive Changes taught me how to take that breath and let it out slowly and relax, and it works! Everybody has noticed that I'm always happy. I'm not stressed out and frantic and getting upset with everybody.

I just feel so much better about myself and enjoy being with people. I've noticed more people will come up and talk to me whereas before they were just kind of not interested. Now it's like I am supposedly interesting where before I wasn't. I've been the same person all along, it's just that I look different. I know it doesn't work for everybody, but it works when you want it. You've got to want it. I came into this program knowing it would work. I knew it would work. I saw it in the paper. It kept showing its face to me. I saw all these people that were from here.

My husband has noticed a lot of changes in me. He tells everybody, "You ought to see my wife. She's doing great!" The most incredible thing that has happened to me since joining Positive Changes is my relationship with my husband. I loved hearing him say, "Wow, my arm fits around you." That was incredible because he hasn't said that in a long time. We've been married for 17 years and when I first married him I was thinner. I weighed about 140 and then steadily gained, and gained, and gained. I've seen pictures of myself taken back even two years ago, and I'm blown away. I had no idea.

I am one hundred percent sure there will be no more weight problems because what I'm doing now is a habit. I'm into this habit of eating correctly. I have no desire to snack. I eat smaller portions. When somebody tries to push something on me, which they do all the time, I just tell them politely, "No thank you, I do not want it." You also have people asking you, "What can't you eat?" I say, "I can eat anything. I just don't want it." I know that it is Positive Changes that has changed my thinking. "Nothing tastes as good as slim and healthy feels" is my motto for life.

The one thing that kept me strong was my husband. He is my rock. He encouraged me through every moment of this journey. Even when he may have noticed my weight gain, his love and support for me never wavered and he never treated me any different. He has always been right there by my side with nothing but encouraging words to help me keep going.

To me, the cost of the program is so worth it because what price do you put on your health? Your health is number one. That's you. Your health is your life. If you don't take control of that, you're not going to be anymore. I would pay it again and again and again, if need be, because I know it works and I can't put a price on it. I don't understand why more people don't go and do it, because who wants to get cut up? Not me.

I have recommended Positive Changes to everybody I ever talk to because there are a lot of overweight people in the industry where I work. I think it's because of our schedules. I work swing shift and it's much easier to eat fast food or processed food. It's much easier. People just have to find the time, which I did. I found the time because I wanted this so bad. I just think more people need to do that. I tell everyone about Positive Changes Hypnosis because I am a walking testament that it works, absolutely 100%!"
